How is Chaga used?
In all cultures, Chaga was brewed as a tea or liquid tincture. The reason for this is that its valuable and anti-inflammatory ingredients such as beta-glucans and high amounts of antioxidants can be harnessed in this way. Our Chaga Elixir has been extracted twice and then gently dried. This saves you the long process of boiling, which takes several hours. Our elixir can be poured directly with hot water. It dissolves completely and develops its full effect.
What does chaga taste like?
Our customers say it tastes mild and slightly earthy. The taste of Chaga is really comparable to nothing and has a very special, unique note. Chaga looks like coffee but is much milder and not at all bitter. You can simply pour hot water over it, either drink it straight or prepare it like your favorite coffee specialty.
Where does our Chaga extract come from?
Our Chaga is wild harvested in Lapland, in the north of Finland. It grows there naturally on birch trees. Chaga can also be found in Siberia and everywhere where the climate is somewhat harsher and there are extensive birch forests.
How hot should the water be?
Boiling water or a temperature of 90°C or more is ideal, then the forest coffee forms a beautiful creamy crown when poured.
Can I also prepare the chaga cold?
Yes, but we recommend pouring hot water over it first so that it develops its full aroma and dissolves all the ingredients. You can then prepare it with ice cubes or cold milk to make an iced coffee. Try our Chaga Latte recipe.
Is there a dosage recommendation that I shouldn't exceed?
Yes! Because Chaga is a potent and effective medicinal mushroom. We recommend drinking no more than one cup per day, prepared according to the dosage instructions on the packaging. Chaga contains high amounts of antioxidants and oxalic acid, which is why even small amounts of our elixir are sufficient.
Is Chaga also suitable for breastfeeding or pregnant women?
No, we generally advise against it. Even with chocolate, you shouldn't overdo it during pregnancy, as it already contains high amounts of antioxidants that could have a stimulating effect. The same applies to the Chaga mushroom.
