What exactly is “Whey” protein powder?

The term “Whey” comes from English and means “whey”. Whey protein powder is therefore also known as “whey protein”. The so-called whey is a component of milk that is left over from cheese production. Filtration removes lactose and fat from the whey, leaving a high-quality protein content. After drying, the end product is a pure whey protein powder.

Our premium organic whey comes from Austria, where the requirements for animal welfare are even higher than in Germany. The milk from which the pasture whey is obtained comes from dairy cows that are kept according to the Austrian organic declaration.

What does “organic” mean for animal husbandry?

Everyone says “Organic” or “Bio” on it, but what does that mean? Does the whey come from a healthy cow? There are many different organic declarations. Our organic whey comes from Austria. There, “organic milk” means that cows are allowed outside for at least 120 days a year. If they are tied to a stable, regular grazing is mandatory. All feed must come from organic farming and 60% of it from roughage, such as hay or green fodder. Our whey cows regularly see the fresh green grass. That's a good life for a dairy cow, we think, and you can taste it in our whey.

Our whey protein tastes neutral and creamy. We completely avoid any additives, flavor enhancers or anything similar. Does it contain lactose?

Yes, it contains a residual component of lactose. If you suffer from lactose intolerance, we recommend that you test our product in small quantities first.

Is there a dosage recommendation that I shouldn't exceed?

Not really, because it's a protein powder. Eating a diet rich in protein is generally healthy and beneficial for building muscle, reducing body fat and improving regeneration. But as with all foods, don't overdo it. We don't eat 18 apples a day either. We have therefore set an average serving size per meal at 30 g. Of course, you can adjust this dose to suit your needs.

Our pasture whey is an undenatured whey. This means that, unlike many other powders, it is not highly heated, but is simply pasteurized at 65°. A wide variety of protein fractions remain included, including cysteine ​​and lactoferrin. These can effectively increase the glutathione levels in your cells and thus strengthen the immune system.
