Mango Protein Shake mit Kurkuma

Fresh, fruity and rich in protein. Our recipe of the week is a mango-turmeric protein shake with organic pasture whey protein . Thanks to a balanced nutrient composition, the smoothie provides you with long-term satiety and light energy for all your projects.


  • 1/2 mango
  • 2 tbsp organic pasture whey (approx. 20 g)
  • 1/2 handful of frozen zucchini
  • 1/2 handful of ice cubes
  • 1/2 frozen banana or 3-4 dates
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1 pinch of black pepper
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 tsp desiccated coconut
  • 2 tbsp coconut yoghurt
  • 300 ml water or plant-based milk
  • 1 tsp spermidine (optional)
  • 1 tbsp collagen (optional)

Toppings: coconut flakes, cashew butter, chi seeds…

Put all the ingredients in a smoothie blender: first the frozen ingredients, then the dry ingredients and finally the liquid. Mix all ingredients thoroughly and add a little more liquid if necessary if your smoothie is too thick. Pour it into a glass and enjoy it as a shake or...

Alternatively, you can also prepare the shake as a smoothie bowl and garnish with toppings of your choice. If necessary, use a little less milk/water or optionally add a handful of frozen zucchini. This makes the smoothie nice and thick and creamy.

Why turmeric?

Turmeric offers a number of health-promoting properties. The active ingredient curcumin not only ensures the spice's intense yellow color, but also its strong anti-inflammatory effect. For this reason, turmeric is even used to treat arthritis, diabetes, and heart disease. It also contains many antioxidants and can therefore help protect the body from damage caused by free radicals. Free radicals can cause cell damage and aging and are linked to a variety of diseases. Some studies even suggest that turmeric may inhibit the growth of cancer cells. The spice has traditionally been used to aid digestion as it can help increase the production of stomach acid and bile, thereby improving the digestion of fats. There is even evidence that turmeric can boost brain function and memory while reducing the risk of Alzheimer's disease.

Did you know already…?

Sounds too good to be true, right? The only “shortcoming” of turmeric is that curcumin is difficult to absorb into the human body. But black pepper can help here - specifically the piperine in pepper, which can increase the absorption of nutrients. It has now been scientifically proven that the combination of turmeric and piperine (e.g. from black pepper) increases the bioavailability of curcumin in the body. We therefore recommend the pinch of black pepper from the recipe as essential and not optional.
